Oddbird is legit one of the best sparkling de-alc wines available right now (big fan of the blanc de blancs as well). And the RtD format, makes it perfect for both retail and on premise - two glasses and no waste.
not a dumb question at all! I think the definition of these things gets looser and looser, especially as people try to market any drink with a name people will recognize.
Personally (and I could be wrong about this) I'd probably call a version without wine an Aperol-soda or Campari-soda or amaro soda...
As I understand it, the spritz began with the wine: adding water (and eventually sparkling water) was a way to tone down your glass a bit and make it less boozy. (I've been offered that version in Austria verrrrry early in the day.) Aperol (or whatever bitter) essentially spikes that drink.
Love it! Cheers to you Maggie and a very happy 2025!

working with one can rather than opening a whole bottle is SO smart.
Okay dumb question but to officially be a spritz does it have to have bubbles? Could it be sparkling water/soda instead?

This is so helpful! Thank you!
